How the number-to-words converter works
Writing an amount in words is still standard on invoices, contracts, cheques and cash documents. It exists for one reason: a written amount cannot be altered by adding a digit. Consistency of format matters as much as correctness.
The converter applies the grammar rules of the selected language, including plural forms of the currency name. Fractional digits are always treated as hundredths: 1.5 means fifty cents, not five.
The supported range reaches 45 digits. That is far beyond any accounting document, but useful for currency conversions in high-inflation settings and for educational purposes.
Supported magnitudes: thousand, million, billion, trillion, quadrillion, quintillion, sextillion, septillion, octillion, nonillion, decillion, undecillion, duodecillion, tredecillion. The largest supported magnitude is a tredecillion.
